How it works
Three parts to the NComputing Solution
The unique NComputing technology is composed of three primary components: vSpace™ virtualization software, a user extension protocol, and access devices. By combining all three of these components into an integrated solution, NComputing delivers unmatched performance at an incredibly low cost. Traditional thin client solutions and other PC alternatives all rely on separate components from disparate vendors, resulting in sub-optimal performance at higher costs.
vSpace desktop virtualization software
First is the vSpace software, which allows standard Linux and Windows PCs to be shared by multiple simultaneous users. With vSpace, each person runs their own applications, just as if they had their own PC.
Extension protocol
Second is the UXP communications protocol. UXP is the method by which the desktop images and audio are sent to the access device and how the keyboard and mouse data is sent back to the PC. UXP is highly efficient, and excels at multimedia and audio/video synchronization.
Access devices
Third are the access devices. They are inexpensive, small, low-power, reliable, durable boxes. On one side they plug into the users’ peripherals (such as the keyboard, monitor and mouse). On the other side, they connect via cables to the shared computer.
If all of your users are clustered in workgroups and are all close to the shared computers, consider the X-series (lowest cost) or U-series (add one desktop at a time).
If you have users who need to be more than 10 meters away from the shared computer, choose the L-series.
