Access Device options for the NComputing Solution

NComputing Access DeviceTurning one computer into multiple virtual desktops requires both hardware and software. Industry leader NComputing bundles their vSpace™ desktop virtualization software with small boxes (also known as access devices or thin clients) for a finely tuned complete solution.

NComputing has various models, varying mostly in how the clients connect to the shared computer. Each of the three cabling options described below has its own advantages.

The X-series: lowest cost and best multimedia

X-series

The X-series support up to eleven simultaneous users on a single shared PC. The configuration includes one or two PCI cards, each of which has three or five connectors. X-series access devices connect directly to each PCI card via standard cables (up to 33 feet long). The X-series provide a rich PC experience that includes widescreen resolutions and full-screen video.

The L-series: maximum flexibility using Ethernet networks

L-series

The L-series access devices connect to the shared computer via standard Ethernet networks. That way, users can be any distance from the shared PC—whether that’s across the hall, across campus, or across the world. L-series products come in a variety of configurations, with options that support USB flash drives and two-way audio. Up to 30 L-series users can share a single PC. And a server can support hundreds.

The U-series: snaps into place

U-series

The revolutionary new U-series are the simplest of all to connect, because they just snap into standard USB ports. There are no network switches to buy and no PCI cards to install. USB does have a distance limitation, but for small installations the NComputing U-series offers high-def multimedia at rock-bottom prices.
